(n.) A grounded line with two conductors that carry equal voltages that are opposite in polarity. In a balanced-to-ground line, the impedance-to-ground levels in both conductors are equal in strength. Audio connections made with this type of line are less susceptible to interference and radio frequency (RF) noise.
