(n.) A cable specifically designed for microphone connection with shielded twisted-pair wiring. It is usually designed for low current applications, with high flexibility, and low handling noise. Small gauge wire is used, surrounded by insulation most often made of rubber, neoprene, or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Microphone cables are not intended for long runs, and are typically under 50 feet in length.
