(v.) To mix several audio tracks on a multitrack tape recorder onto an unused track on the same tape. Ping-ponging increases the number of individual recorded layers. It is not possible to alter the mix between the tracks that are bounced onto an open track after the original tracks are erased or replaced by new program material.
