(n.) Streams of MPEG that use only intracoded frames (I-frames) and predictive-coded frames (P-frames), employing less buffer memory for decoding. Coding with a simple profile is less efficient than coding with bidirectionally predictive frames (B-frames). See also MPEG frame type.
