In a performer’s part extracted from a larger score, it refers to using small print showing a short excerpt from another player’s part in the music to indicate where an entrance is after a long break. It also refers to instructions given to performers or voice talent over headphones in a recording studio over the “talk back” system. An orchestra conductor may give a cue to signify the entrance of a performer.
