runtime code

« BACK TO DICTIONARY INDEX

(n.) Program code that allows playback or delivery of a program without requiring the parent application to be present. Most multimedia authoring software tools give the developer the option of outputting a program with runtime code. In this format the program cannot be altered or reverse-engineered and requires less storage space than the parent application.
