Course Description
- This is the third course in a sequence of three. The prerequisite is Contemporary Music Theory II, or fluency with fundamentals, SATB part writing, cadences, and non-chord tones. In this course you will study:
- Secondary Dominant and Leading-tone chords
- Borrowed chords and Mode Mixture
- Harmonic Modulation in various styles
- Altered Pre-Dominant chords
- Extended chords with the 9th, 11th, and 13th
- Linear and Non-Functional Harmony
