Course Description
- This is the second course in a sequence of three: Fundamentals, Diatonic Harmony and Chromatic Harmony. It is assumed that you have taken Fundamentals, or have thorough fluency with major and minor scales, keys, intervals, triads, seventh chords, and music notation including Lead Sheet symbols. In this course you will:
- Analyze harmony with Roman Numerals and figured bass.
- Learn about Blues Scales and Progressions.
- Understand the principles of SATB part writing.
- Recognize phrases, periods, and harmonic cadences.
- Analyze and write non-harmonic tones in melodies
- Develop Aural and Sight Singing Skills
