(pronounced “RAM-dack”) (n.) A combination of three fast DACs for RGB values and a Static RAM (SRAM) chip. A graphics display adapter uses a RAMDAC to store the color palette and to generate the analog signals that drive a monitor. The DACs process the RGB values, and the SRAM serves as a color look-up table.
